Research Notes
Retrospective readings of the released monthly evidence. Each Note sets out a finding, its strongest alternative explanation and its implications for understanding automated systems.
The calendar changed the sign of the activity comparison
August looked quieter than July across the full calendar months, but the comparison reversed when each weekday received equal representation. Entry activity rose in both views. This retrospective Note explains why a monthly total needs its calendar basis beside it.
More entry activity sat inside a quieter month
August’s total instruction activity fell while entry activity rose. Management and other messages moved the other way. The aggregate alone therefore obscured a change in the composition of messages reaching the bridge.
A higher stop-loss-field share concealed a decline in FX
Recognised stop-loss fields appeared in a larger share of entries overall in August, but the share within FX fell. Asset-class comparisons qualify the combined average and keep message construction separate from broker-side protection.
Crypto dominated a much quieter weekend instruction mix
Crypto formed most weekend entry activity in August, while average weekend-day activity was much lower than the weekday average. A share of a quieter period and the activity level of that period answer different questions.
