Exit fields and system design

What can an alert’s stop and target fields reveal about exit logic?

The overall stop-loss-field share rose +2.0 pp in August versus July 2026, while the share within FX changed −3.5 pp.

The overall average is not every asset class

Stop-loss-field share rose overall in August, while the share within FX fell. The other published asset classes moved upward. A system that monitors only the combined average would miss the FX change. The source bulletin includes the associated target-field and neither-field comparisons.

Field presence answers a narrow question

Pulse recognises fields in the received entry text. An exit can also be set in the receiving EA, a later message or strategy logic. Conversely, a recognised field does not demonstrate a valid value or broker acceptance. Read the measure as a description of message construction.

Compare within a stable denominator

Each class-level change uses that class’s entry instructions. The overall share also responds to changes in the mix of classes. The published comparison does not separate these effects, so it cannot establish that exit logic improved or deteriorated across systems.

Source scope

July comparisons use the August release’s consistent eligibility rules. They can differ from the separately published July bulletin. These are source-calendar months; the source time zone is unconfirmed.

Registered measurement limits
  • risk management actually practiced
  • field validity, broker acceptance, execution, or protection of a position (exits may live in EA settings, later instructions, or strategy logic)
