An aggregate can conceal opposite changes

The August bulletin records higher entry activity alongside lower management and other activity. The overall decline therefore does not describe both message families. The entry share rose as the balance between them changed.

Keep command families visible

Direct-entry commands remained the main entry form, while the bulletin also distinguishes pending entries and close-and-reverse commands. A useful monitoring view separates these families before comparing periods. Their proportions describe the messages received; they do not verify how the receiving terminal handled them.

Keep receipt separate from completion

These findings stop at instruction text reaching the bridge. They do not measure end-to-end delay, terminal availability, rejected orders or confirmed fills. Operational dashboards need distinct evidence for those stages; a change in the instruction mix cannot stand in for an execution-quality measure.

Source scope

July comparisons use the August release’s consistent eligibility rules. They can differ from the separately published July bulletin. These are source-calendar months; the source time zone is unconfirmed.
